Word to Peter Young

Felt like I was supposed to email him, so I did.

Peter, you are an amazing Man of God, and I bless you and the call on your life. Keep going, and don’t give up!

The Lord seems to be healing hearts from past wounds these days. I believe this to be body-wide.

As such, God is healing my heart from Christian leaders and experiences I had.

Bridgeway was one of a handful of ministries that hurt me. But I no longer carry anything negative towards any of them. God meant it all for good.

So how can we turn that to good for bridgeway? Here’s my myopic view…

I feel that you missed or didn’t discern the call on my life. And Eph 4 says it’s the job of office folks to unify, mature and bring believers into the fullness of the statue of Christ.

It’s not a blame thing. We are all growing up.

But, I didn’t need to learn how to hear God’s voice. I needed to learn how to grow up as a prophet of God. And, I was too immature to understand. My character needed work too. Kids shouldn’t have to carry the burden to know what they need. That’s not the design. The church leadership needs to know what is needed. Otherwise growth stops at some point, and you are left with no adults. Just look at Flatirons. Babies everywhere. This is an opportunity area.

BW starts the maturity process for folks who are new to Holy Spirit in grand fashion. Then it stops. There is more – much more. Look at the KMT manual for evidence.

I believe it is time for bridgeway to mature its own ministry. For one, it might do well for leadership to revisit Eph 2:20. Is your own structure sound?

And I think that you might want to look at the levels of maturity, calling, giftedness, etc. on your team and congregation and have ways to grow them up based on where they are knowing that some folks might be way down the path. One size does not fit all.

This means that you also need all office-level folks operating. You can’t give what you don’t have (Bill Johnson). There is value in a prophet who has years of experience growing up young prophets. A pastor doesn’t have the DNA for that. At best he has knowledge only. Nothing to impart…

For BW, I also believe you have to move away from the attraction of your staff all looking the same (very pastoral) and embrace diversity. Apostles and prophets will bring power for sure. Immature ones will be powerfully messy. Embrace the dirty manger. Much increase comes from the ox. The makeup of an evangelist will be quite different from a pastor for example. Sometimes we like those who look most like us and build our teams accordingly.

Brett overseeing healing rooms is a good example. Has he ever performed a miracle of healing himself? Has he personally delivered anyone? You will deal with both in that ministry. If not, I’d say he’s the wrong guy.

Pastors love well. They fight poorly. We need some of those guys who carry the authority and experiences to ward off the devil and provide protection. We need all five.

I believe you will see a much greater release of the power of God you so greatly desire with some changes. And, the battles with witchcraft (and other spirits) will be much less.

BW has had a bit of reputation amongst the folks who carry big anointing as not a safe place. It’s a revolving door, if you look back historically.

It is time to turn that around because we all need each other.

The proper governmental structure will help it all.

There is probably more, but… This is a long enough email. I apologize for that. It was also unsolicited. But I believe in you and bridgeway.

Change is coming to the local church in a big way. We are not ready for the harvest, and changes are coming. Everyone wants it, but will we align with necessary adjustments? God is fixing some stuff. Bridgeway isn’t excluded.

I figured it better to share with you than just remain silent. My hope is that this feedback is helpful in you navigating your own changes. Too many times we simply don’t know cause no one wanted to tell us. And, I tried to provide some solutions rather than just say what’s wrong. Anyone can complain.

I really do hope this helps.

Keep going! You are awesome.

By the way, I copied Rich Harris on this because he serves as a spiritual father to me, and I want his accountability.

Finally, I saw the church operating in a large building downtown. New ground. Greater authority.

Step fully into your role as unifier of the local church in the front range, Ambassador.
