Conviction and disobedience…

This morning, I had the unique opportunity to walk into the auditorium where the conference was going on before it opened up. I knew that it didnt open before 9am, but there were folks in the room sitting down. So, I walked down to the front row and put my bags in 2 chairs for Kurt and I.

I then went out, and we got to talking with a nice lady who paints prophetically.

I started getting convicted on my bags being in the room and told Kurt that I thought it to be a bad idea. He told me that it was fine, and I listened to him. I ignored the prompting of God and listened to man.

Well, we got in and sat in our chairs, and one of the Bethel team members told us that the front row was for the team. We had to move. And, the good seats had all been taken.

The first lesson is obvious. We circumvented the system to get ourselves put above the others. The second is critical: when God says to do something, do it, and ignore what man says.

Luke 14:7-11

7When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: 8″When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. 9If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this man your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place. 10But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests. 11For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Father, I am sorry. Please help me to hear You and see Your promptings when I get off course. I repent of my junk. Please forgive me for doing this and exalting myself above others.
