On Saturday, I was talking with Jack about guitars.
He has been looking for an electric guitar for some time now. I told him to ask the LORD. Well, we have tried out many. There are all kinds of things that are needed: the neck, sound, pickups, strings, etc.
We bounced between Fender and Gibson.
Saturday, Jack tells me that he hasnt been able find anything that he likes. Grammy was going to take him back to guitar center to try more out. The Gibsons are expensive. And, Jack was paying for this with some help from Loraine.
I asked him if he had looked in Denver. He was looking on craigslist for a used one.
I asked him about Gibson Standards (those are the best). He said that they start at 1,500. He budgeted 1,000. Plus the one he wants has a 50’s neck, etc. Retail, it’s a 3,800 guitar.
As he is describing it, I do a search on craigslist here in CO. I see the guitar. I ask if 1,300 is a good price. He says, YES! And, he says that he wants a black. one. The one that I am looking at is black. I show him the guitar – he actually had just pulled it up.
It was THE one!
He was so excited. He tells me that God had been moving on him these last couple of weeks and that just this morning, he prayed that God would do something cool for him.
After a few hours of communications with the dude that owned it, I went over and bought it. Jack “knew” that it was the right one.
We even had an issue with how to pay, and the LORD fixed it.
Jack now owns a Gibson Les Paul Standard with a 50’s neck and everything else that he ever wanted – all of it!
Praise the LORD!!!
